2026年2月、自動車売買のマーケットプレイスであるCarGurusが、ShinyHuntersと呼ばれる攻撃者によるデータ侵害の被害を受けました。恐喝の試みの後、データは公開され、1,200万件を超えるメールアドレスのほか、ユーザーアカウントIDの対応情報、ローンの事前審査申込データ、販売店のアカウントや契約情報などが含まれていました。氏名、電話番号、住所、IPアドレス、自動車ローン申込の審査結果も漏洩の対象となりました。

In February 2026, the automotive marketplace CarGurus was the target of a data breach attributed to the threat actor ShinyHunters. Following an attempted extortion, the data was published publicly and contained more than 12M email addresses across multiple files including user account ID mappings, finance pre-qualification application data and dealer account and subscription information.
